Embouchure strength is the key to brass playing. Lots of people can blow air and if you can't sing a song in your head, get out of music. Take a musician and give her/him embouchure strength and you can make a pretty good brass player.

Chester Schmitz has been a great influence on my playing.

New England Conservatory has been a great influence on my playing. (Esp. John Heiss, Ben Zander, Charlie Schlueter, Danny Katzen, Norman Bolter, Doug Yeo, Jamie Sommerville [not necessarily in that order])
