1) some say a "warmer" sound (especially when stored by the fireplace or radiator)
2) the chance to say "no it is a BBflat" when the trombone asks if it is a CC
3) camaraderie of other players who (in younger years) were scared of trying to switch
4) when shopping, the chance to chose the best out of a picked-over group of FIVE horns (versus only 2 or three CC's)
5) "two feet of pipe" to assist in getting the sound out into the hall at the same time as the trumpet's and flute's sound gets there
6) the opportunity to champion a cause which is (forgive-ably) kinda the underdog's
