I have a 6/4 CC horn that I purchased abroad about 2 years ago that has a mean vibration on a high C that is caused by the separation of the 3" wide protection layer on the inside bow of the horn. It was caused by a couple of very small dings when leaning against a chair. The horn lacks the additional 1/2" rib that most horns add to this layer. It should have been put on the instrument, especially because this horn has very thin metal to start.
Of course I want to avoid taking off the bottom bow. If I have to do that, I am taking a trip back to Germany. Any other ideas out there? Thanks guys,
