I'm a fat lazy guy with a fat ego.

My only "doubles" are baritone/valve trombone and electric bass, even though I can do a very good job on upright bass, trombone, and (third part, please) trumpet if I practice.

Since upright bass and trombone require that one "know" the positions "dead on", I am not willing to keep up those skills. I can pick up a baritone and sound like I am not "doubling", and as one who used to be a nerdy little kid who studied classic guitar technique for about six years, the electric bass has been a "natural" since I bought my first one at age 15.

In other words, I am only willing to "double" on instruments that:

1/ Do not require that I practice.
2/ Do not sound like I am "doubling" when I perform on them.
