It looks like the structure of auditions for civic. There are now regional auditions, like New World. I understand that the past few years have had unusual pieces on the list because the number of applicants rose to the point that one day in chicago was not enough, so Mr. Pokorny arranged to have all applicants do some extra home work in the repertoire department if they wanted to audition. It seems now that the CSO members will be able to take time watching and listening to recorded auditions, it is not such a problem to have large numbers or applicants.
I haven't spoken to anyone involved about the changes. This is just what I've worked out from the conversations I had a couple years ago with very reliable sources and the new information about the auditions and lists.
