Hey everybody!
I just wanted to tell (brag, boast, gloat, whatever) everyone who is going up to Chicago for the Midwest clinic to keep your eyes open for the slightly loud, bald, bearded band director named Ernie Phillips from Georgia.
He's gonna get the John Phillip Sousa Legion of Honor this year so if any of you see him, say congratualations from Doug Gladden.
He's my band director, but it'll be really cool if a bunch of folks he doesn't know start congratualting him like that.
BTW, he's a tuba player, a VERY good tuba player at that.
