Went through this about 8 years ago. There is a ton of stuff, but lots of it is dissapointing. When be began we did a lot of hit and miss, but generally you can rely on stuff arranged by Frackenpohl, Jack Gale, Villenueva (sp), Luther Henderson, Holcomb. A good investment would be to purchase as many quintet CD's as you can afford, and purchase arrangements you like. Lots of the Canadian Brass stuff is available and is very accessable, but there are many other groups out there. You will want to get a bookful of wedding music (no matter how much we have we ALWAYS have to arrange something), as well as churchy stuff.

Be ready (and willing) to drop some good money into music (get a King catalog) and make the search for music part of the enjoyment of the whole experience. The cost of music is continually on the increase, so what you pay now will be money well spent.

Good luck..and remember...a bad quintet with a good book works more than a good quintet with a bad book!
