I play a SM 4 on my Euph. On Steven Meads website, he describes the SM 4 as being a favorite among american euphers playing on a Schilke 51D -- I can tell you emphatically that an SM 4 is in reality much larger than a 51D. For me, the 3.5 or 4 would be way too large. This mouthpiece works wonderfully as long as you put enough air into the horn.
