No, the 12J is a front action, 3 valve horn. No current Conn tubas come with top action valves. The King 1140 is the only current UMI top action tuba, and this is top action to allow it to be convertable for marching. Conn changed some model numbers a few years ago and may have re-used the 12J designation. I remember a 15J, that was a 3 valve version of the 5J, and the 12J was a smaller bore version. The 10J and 11J were top action horns.
