I think the difference between the Yamaha and the Besson regarding sound is that the Yamaha is more sensitive to what kind of sound the player is producing. If he has good sound - good sound will come out. If he hasn't then......

Ok what I mean is that if you are used to playing on an instrument which plays very dark and smooth (like the Besson)and you try something that plays brighter you get a much brighter sound. But if you play on the brighter sounding instrument for a longer periode you can change your sound and make up for most of the difference.

And lastly one little thing to think about: I once taped myself playing on a Besson 967 and a Yamaha 642. I played the tape to my mother (who does not play but who sings very well) and she consistently picked out the Yamaha as the best sounding instrument. I asked her why and she said because it sounded brighter.....
