There is nothing off the shelf about this model. There is no stock of them anywhere, as they are only made to firm order, prepaid or with a large down payment. I had been considering this instrument, but was warned against it by a major expert on the topic.

There has been a very perfect specimen touring exhibitions and conferences. Yet the production flow is so low, that consistency from specimen to specimen can not be expected.

The idea of dependent valves might be good on bass bones according to the Yeo site (I do not agree). Yet the same idea applied on tubas will let the player miss one of the great bonuses of 5 valves over 4.

No matter of key, on all 4 valve non-comp tubas one must finger the notes a semitone above and a tritonus below the 2nd partial 2+4. Within lipable distance from the right pitch, but still too sharp. Tubas with 5 in-line valves offer the fingering 2+3+5 (long whole step 5th valve assumed).
