You will find that a piece of Rubbermaid shelf covering will last a couple of months, then it no longer holds as well. I tried washing it in a washing machine with the laundry. Didn't really work well. However, a roll of it is cheap enough that I just cut off a new piece and go again. You can also use it to wrap your mouthpiece in when you are not playing. :)
