I only referred to the terms used in the posting, that I replied to. I do not consider myself having any special knowledge on Willson instruments. Even I probably made a thorough test of the 4 front piston full comp Willson Bb euph before most members of the TubeNet community did so. That was back in 1974. I found it a bit clumsy to hold and I was not fully convinced about the moveable main tuning slide.
So I did not buy it. Because I could not afford it. That instrument was bought by the lead trombone of our very good radio big band. He used it in that band and in his summer job in the Tivoli garden.
