Perhaps the "professional" is used to hearing his sound bounce off of certain walls. The front-action will bounce off of opposite walls. If the "pro" is waiting for the sound to come back from the direction that they're used to, they'll have a long wait.
(btw, does anyone know if this instrument uses the same bell as the 2900? [from Joe-who-should-already-know])
