Pat in a posting on the TubaChristmas thread tell of her Lidl oval euphonium pitched to "the old Austro-Hungarian high A".
This had me wondering, whether the Lidl actually could have been built in standard pitch C.
I have C Bariton (oval instruments all are very different from euphoniums) from A. Eser, Gütersloh (in Germany). Most likely a Czech stencil. It can be seen here above (hopefully).
This instrument has many similarities to my Cerveny Kaiser Bariton, which kan be seen here:

Just about all of the differentces in the main tubing between the C A. Eser and the Bb Cerveny are between the valve cluster and and the entry into the inner oval branch. The A. Eser only has a very short tuning slide.
A Thibauville-Lamy C-Bb euph can be found at

Its C side was used in a German church.
Is there some information out there on an, albeit small, German tradition of using C brasses in church contexts?
