Most likely that's a problem, Wondering. That probably happened because you've been putting way too much pressure when you play. Your lip is a muscle and when you put so much pressure when you play like that, you're keeping blood from flowing through lip that's doing a lot of work. Thus why your lip's changed color in the shape of a semi-circle.

Remember, when playing a brass instrument (especially tuba) it's at least a good 80% or so AIR. You don't get a good tone by putting pressure. You're not able to play high by putting extra pressure. IT'S ALL ABOUT AIR. If you can't blow and have to put pressure to play, switch to the oboe :.) Just playing, good luck and have it checked by the doctors and start using your AIR.
