This is generally ignored by symphony orchestras which hold auditions, except for the opera instrumental works which 1/ have become part of the concert literature 2/ have notoriously prominent and difficult parts for the auditioning instrument.

The old "Solos for the Tuba Player" has some opera excerpts in it (I think, unless I have it mixed up with another book)...Verdi, Strauss, etc.

The Tchaik ballets are about the only ones that there's even a 50% chance of us tubers ever playing, and they are never on lists.
