It's important to understand that SharpEye's just a score-to-intermediate file converter (as are all of the scanning utilities that come with the notation packages) You need the "extract parts" facility of one of the fancy notation packages for what you want to do. But I've used SE to scan quintet and instrument-with-piano accompaniment music and had no problems getting parts out of the result.

The biggest problem with conductors' scores is that the writing is usually tiny and the printing is of low quality. Making for lotsa hand editing.

But what the heck, why not download SE 2 and see what happens? You've got 30 days to evaluate it--no features are disabled during that period.
