Something to keep in mind is possible damage to the throat area. Not to sound all doom-and-gloom, but I know of a trumpet player that suffered damage to the throat which resulted in her not being able to close the passage to the sinus. Therefors, when she tried to play, air would just come out of her nose. LUCKILY she found an excellent oral surgeon that corrected the problem through reconstructive surgery. Even though this could happen to anyone, be sure your dentist understands that you are a tubist!!! Countless people have this procedure with no complications. Good luck.
