Sorry, you're still misinterpreting what I typed.
I mean "stuffy" in terms of how it blows (ie, response from back-pressure), not how it "sounds".
I never said anything about the Mirafone having a stuffy SOUND.
I think that you and I have different ideas of what "stuffy" means (which is ok).
I've never played a 187 much less one with a bigger leadpipe on it so i can't comment as to whether or not the same modifications would have the same effect. I would guess that it couldn't hurt.
