It is definitely an honor to be selected to play. It also requires hours and hours of intense rehearsals to get a high school band prepared to play an hours worth of music. For those of you who will be around on Friday night, I invite you to come to the 8:15 performance of my Wind Ensemble who has moved from the Saturday morning slot into this prime spot. I am the Associate Conductor for the Holliday Wind Ensemble and although I am only conducting one of our 11 pieces, I have spent countless hours working with the brass players and the entire ensemble. The concert should be great. We will be premeiring pieces by Frank Ticheli and other fine composers, and also pulling out classics like Nelhybel's Symphonic Movement and Hanssen's Valdres.

If you make it to the concert, feel free to stop by and say Hi. It would be nice to meet some of the fellow tuba players out there.
