For my electric, I play on a 6 string frettless Carvin subcontrabass tuba, jet black in color.

My real upright is a 4 string William Lewis Popper with a non-mechanical C extension.

My thin upright is a zeta full size with a non-mechanical C extension.

I play through an Ampeg B115 for small quintet and chamber music gigs that require the F tuba approach. For the orchestral and large band stuff, I use the Ampeg SVT 4 pro and run through a hartke 2.5 cabinet (2 10's and one 5 inch tweeter) teamed with a yamaha 18 inch or a electrovoice 15 inch woofer.

The Mel Bay methods are easy to use. If you are going to invest in an upright anytime soon, use the Rufus Reid methods. Lots of the Reid methods are good for electric playing as well.
