When I made the switch I started by thinking of the scale patterns with the new fingerings and that helped me associate the new fingerings with what I saw on the page. I never transposed or anything like that. It comes fast once you start thinking "ok, I play a C scale like the Bb on a BBb..." Of course it'll take time, but now I find myself almost consumed by thinking in C, and I still play both (if one considers a sousaphone a tuba...or even a musical instrument)! Good luck!!!
