I'd bet it plays better. The one example of the 2000 I played was a great instrument, with all the characteristics that I described about the Holton except size.
The York Master is a great tuba in the BBb realm and one of the few 5/4 BBb piston tubas ever made, but I have played some CC tubas that I have liked as well and would probably come to like better. But they were stunningly out of my price range, especially considering my laziness when it comes to learning CC fingerings.
