Try having your local dealer order a Denis Wick mouthpiece, such as DW2 or DW1 without the "L" suffix on the size (IOW, not a DW2L or DW1L). Or order one from the link below:
The DW mouthpieces seem to work really well with the older Besson tubas. You can also special-order the small-shank mouthpiece from Schilke, Warburton or Marcinkiewicz, but Denis Wick is the only manufacturer I know of that keeps them around as standard stock items.
