I searched the archives and looked on the Tips page, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I hope some of the experts on this list can offer some advice.

What is the best way to tune a tuba to the baseline? For instance, if I want to get a good starting point, should I start by pushing all the slides in, then tuning one slide at a time? If so, what's the best order? Should I start with the main slide, move on to the first, second, third, fourth, etc.? I know that a horn is never in perfect tune and that a tubist has to adjust to the ensemble, but I would assume that there is a proper way to get started. Thanks in advance for any advice.
