Dizzy's cheeks completely ruptured towards the end of his career, but anyone checking out any but the most polite orchestral trumpeters will quickly note that from James through Chase through.... throats swell immensly, faces bulge and things generally behave like fleshy baloons when the man goes for the high loud ones. A contention that Diz's swollen puss indicates that he had "no control of his corners" is laughable. The man could probably remove lug nuts with his lips...
