Have your local university flute professor play this Alpine "Dehan" model beginner flute side-by-side with the beginner model Gemeinhardt flute. They should use an electronic tuner, btw.
The Alpine (actually made by the prestigious Dean Yang Flutes company) can be had for a fraction of the cost of a Gemeinhardt.
