I believe you might have something here. With any instrument, the tendency for overblowing is exacerbated by the fact of having a smaller bell. Larger bells spread the sound out better, and help to keep the instrument in tune and in tone, at least is this my experience. You must forget that with the metal Cerveny used is not like the brass of U.S. manufacturing giants, too! While Cerveny's manufacturing methods and materials help to build that "famous" Cerveny tone, in construction it is also not as sturdy like the American counterparts. Will the undergrads men be unhappy that you are using their tuba and not using yours, which is bigger?
