I was trying to determine if what we were talking about was a non-linear taper (fast taper, then a slow one) or a linear taper that "got it over with quickly" and settled down to a cylindrical shape for the remainder of the leadpipe.

I can see that a rotary horn might have the "get it over with" approach because of the length of the leadpipe (I have an Alex with a custom leadpipe and that does seem to happen).

OTOH, my current creation has a rather short (11" with receiver) leadpipe and I was wondering if I ought to try out Joe's idea--but I need to know what it is first.
