This will be my last entry on this. Steve, if you read my posts I've already described what your talking about! All I'm saying is WITHOUT a bass to contend with there is no problem sitting down to play a side-action tuba with a stand-which seemed to be what was inferred by Dan's post. Yes, IT IS awkward to switch from a bass to tuba with a front-action in a stand-much more so than a top-action. I'll have to contend with this myself on Thursday when I will be doubling on bass and tuba.
