Help.

I'm trying to pick a piece to play for solo/ensemble contest with some of my tuba and euph high school students. I'm not particularly familiar with a lot of the literature out there. Maybe some of you out there know these pieces and could offer some help.

Some things on the list that I can play:

Consortium- Cheetham for 4 euph/4 tubas.

Diversion- Clinard 4 euph/ 3 tubas.

Tuba Magic- DiGiovanni 2 euph/ 4 tubas. I have this in my school's library. I'd love to be able to play it, however the first tuba range is way too high for my students. The only way I could pull this off is to have the upper two tuba parts played on euph. It's also a bit on the lengthy side.

Fantasia of Dies Irae- Hill 2 euph/ 4 tubas.

Are any of you familiar with any of these pieces? Do you have any insight? My euphonium players are great. Several of them have all-state potential. My tuba players are decent but I sure won't be bragging on them here. I can't ask the tubas to play anything over the staff as it's just to painful to listen to them up there.

Thanks,
Mike
