Addendum / Conn Eb vs. King Eb

I'm looking at a couple of Eb (EEb?) tubas for sale, and was wondering how the two traditionally compare quirks-wise, intonation-wise, etc....
One is a '30s H.N. White Symphony Bass, the other is a 1921-22 Conn. Both are silver plated, the Conn comes with a case, the King doesn't, and the Conn's cheaper.
I've played a beautiful '30s King at Phil Holcomb's house, and from what I've read on this BBS, '20s Conns are suseptible to quirky intonation.
I'm surmising that even though the Conn comes with a case and is cheaper, the King is the better buy.
Anybody want to refute or support this?
