The Master Modelle BBflat I owned when in college was built like a tank,
.890 bore, pre-'68, Cerveny-built in Czechoslovakia, gorgeous red patina
that I mistakenly polished off. I never had the intonation problems that
so many people whine about in tubas (this may be just me and being used
to adjusting at the face for differences in partials which are really
common to all tubas.) WONderful sound, rotors were fine, clockspring linkage
which was a lil noisy (TC called it a percussion section in a rehearsal once.)
It was the best large BBflat I've ever owned, only reason I sold it was
I switched to CC. I'd take one of these over an equally-priced 186 any day,
would really like to find one in CC sometime.
Highly-recommended horns for the money and worth checking out.

b.t.w. I sold mine in 1998 for 2200

Hope this helps,
