I agree that Mr. Sloan's post is one of the best I've ever seen on this topic. He almost made a believer out of me. The difference between football and music performance, though, is the difference between extracurricular activity and major field of study. Sure, football is a high priority for many schools, but it won't equate to music performance until you can major in it.
