I'm posting this because I know that there are a lot of folks with flute-playing Significant Others on this list.

For those of you in the Denver area who have an interest in flutes, you might want to drop by the Vance Brand Civic Auditorium in Longmont 7:30 PM this Saturday, December 20 to hear the augmented Silver Winds Flute Orchestra do their annual Christmas concert. It always includes a premiere of a commissioned work (last year's was penned by tubadom's own Jim Self).

My wife tells me that there are tons of altos, at least 8 bass and 4 contrabass flutes, in addition to percussion, bass, harp, handbells and a mime(?!). Sounds like it could be a lot of fun, even if there aren't any tubas there.
