Perhaps it's just because I read it first but I strongly prefer the original "The Inner Game of Tennis" by Timothy Galway. Every sentence of that book already directly applies to the needs of a musician and does a much better job of illuminating the concepts than the musical examples could ever hope to.
Another great book that covers the same kinds of concepts is "A Soprano on Her Head". I don't recall the author at the moment. Very enjoyable read written directly from the many enlightening experiences of the author.
