Mary Ann, the besson 700 baritone is a Bb tenor saxhorn, whereas the euphonium is a Bb tenor tuba, and these instruments produce these respective sounds. The Besson 700 series is a student model, although it is one of the better ones. The 757 model will be a better model still, but it is still not Besson's top of the range baritone, which is the 'Sovereign' model. The next model down used to be the 'Imperial' tho I dont know if they are still made, but they are still excellent. Besson has a 4 - valve baritone, but it isn't popular here in the UK, where bands tend to prefer Besson instruments. I have to say tho if you prefer euphonium the baritone will disappoint you, sooner or later.
