Bearing in mind that it's a youth orchestra, I'll still assume it's comprised of highly developed players who can handle real repertoire, so here's my short list of neglected great tunes that audiences can relate to with great parts that will give you a run for your money -

Elgar: Cockaigne Overture
Elgar: In the South
Walton: Portsmouth Point Overture
Vaughan Williams: A London Symphony (Sym #2)
Nielsen: Symphony #2
Franck: Chasseur Maudit (Accursed Huntsman)
Prokofiev: Lt. Kije Suite
Tchaikovsky: Hamlet Overture
