What brand horn do you have?
My Miraphone has adjustment screws in the bottom caps. When a valve starts to get a little noisy, first I clean and oil it as well as possible, and make sure all the usual screws are reasonably tight. Then, if the problem is still there, I put a screw driver in the adjustment screw slot and just !think! about turning it. So far that has frightened it into going quiet.
What I mean, of course, is that you really don't want to crank on that adjustment screw. The tiniest adjustment you can make is usually enough.
