The difference is fingerings as well as total size of the instrument. Tubas are non-transposing, so each tuba in a different key requires a different fingering for the same written note on your music.
If you play BBflat now, you might be able to drive your playing "to the next level" by working on CC - of course you could also get that next level I suppose by practicing a lot more on BBflat. I mainly point this out to avert some obtuse denial of the FACT that most folks who switch to CC become better players as a result. I'd bet a powerball ticket that the percentage of those who switch to CC and become better players is much higher than the percentage of those who "think" about switching but then stick with BBflat and manage to become better players.
Those who successfully make the switch often say they prefer the quicker response of a CC tuba, which has less overall length than a BBflat.
