Since you've never play this, the loud part in fast/odd time needs to be looked at and played along with a recording.

You have some VERY prominent "kicker" notes to play (Maybe they're D's ?). If you lose count in the fast/odd time measures, it could be embarrassing - even in the reading rehearsal...

...Don't worry. It ain't rocket science. Each of the loud quick brass chords equal beats in a measure. It's just that everyone else has a bit easier time counting, since most everyone else is "busy" playing something different on all of the beats, and you're either holding or resting/counting.
