Whenever I briefly monkey around with *bass trombone, I never try to use anything bigger than a Bach 1-1/2G.

- I don't have stuff bigger than that layin' around "used".
- I don't have the chops to control anything larger.
- The highs that still remain in the sound of such a moderately-sized mouthpiece give my not-used-to-bass-trombone ear more intonation cues.

*OK, my experience here is next to nill. I've played two payin' gigs on bass trombone in my entire life, and both of them were (of course) high-payin' Easter gigs that I really didn't want to turn down. (' would have, otherwise.) I really feel like I did an "adequate" (certainly nothin' to brag about, and just as happy these weren't recorded) job, but was very uncomfortable and glad to get them over with. Summary: I ain't much of one to ask about bass trombone mouthpiece stuff.
