I kinda figured the type of responses this post would draw, but all joking aside,... since the subject of controversial quality tubas has been broached... why can't some of the retailers set up a place where the 'questionable' horns can be tried? The so-called 'cheap' horns are a reality and without question are an important part of the tuba spectrum. I would like to play some of the so-called 'junk' like the Hayden, Musica, and Bestler horns. I'm sure one of these days they will come through my shop for repair and I won't have a problem working on them. I would like to hear from the folks that already own these 'questionable' horns. Email me privately if you want to avoid the flames.
