I don't own a 2165 so all I can say on that is of what I remember from play testing one. It is an extremely well put together instrument with few intonation problems. It speaks very well almost as well as a Yorkbrunner. The 2155 is an excellent choice for any tuba player. It is very versitile. It is at home in a quintet setting to even a large orchestral setting. In my opinion it is the best value and sound on the 4/4-5/4 market. I played it against a Perantucci PT-6P and some other horns i.e, Cerveny and Miraphone and found the 2155 to be far superior.
