I'm sure that Roger Bobo can play a BB flat tuba. The guy can play anything. He is one of the most remarkable brass players I have ever heard. At the risk of repeating earlier posts to this BBS, I first met and played with Roger in 1956 in the All-California High School Honors Orchestra. We were both 18 years old. There were probably 150 players in that group, and we did Tchaikovsky's 5th. Two years later, I played in a pick up group in Hollywood called the Vine Street Workshop Orchestra which introduced contemporary compositions by southern California composers. Roger played tuba in this group and I played 3rd trumpet. Most of the musicians were film studio players. (I was lucky to get in the group because I was studying trumpet with some Hollywood studio trumpet players.)
Miklos Rosza, the composer of music for many films (eg, Quo Vadis; Ivanhoe; etc.) was the conductor.

Sorry to get carried away with the nostalgia bit.
