When I was studying with Matt Good, I asked him how to circle breathe (Matt circle breathes quite well). He told me that to learn, I should get a glass of water and a straw. Then I should blow bubbles through the straw and breathe through my nose while I kept the bubbles going. I told him that if I could do that, I'd already be able to circle breathe. He said, "Exactly".
After a few days, I was able to keep the bubbles going. Having the visual of the bubbles certainly helped the learning process. Then, it took a few weeks to get it on the horn, but it's really a self-taught experience. I would highly recommend the straw and water approach to help teach yourself.
