Hello,
I'm also in high school (freshman) and I play on a BBb 3/4 Yamaha. My Northeastern Massachusetts Senior District band's first chair played on a Meinl-Weston CC Bell model with four valves. He sounded fine to me and he even soloed. I played the horn for a little and felt the sound was just fine for a concert band. There was also a BBb player in the orchestra. The point is that it really doesn't matter; just as long as the horn can get the job done (I woudn't care if it was pitched in BB). I've never seen or heard of a CC with less than 4 valves. Most Orchestral tubist play CC because most of the music is written in sharps instead of flats and a CC makes fingering patterns easier. I can tell you from experience that playing with four sharps on a BBb can be quite hard! Hope I've helped even if I did repeat things mentioned before.
Just try out as many horns a s you can and buy the one you like the best.
