Bob Rusk was the tubist of the Milwaukee Symphony for 25 years. He was the first to take old York tubas and "recycle" some of the major parts (bell, bows, etc;) and put on new valves. Part of the sound of the yorks has to do with the metal they used for their instruments but, with these horns now 60+ years old, they are in need of a major rehabbing and this is one way.

One of Bob Rusk's York rebuilds was made in a production horn, first the Canadian Brass CB-50 later renamed the Getzen G-50.

I have played both of these horns that Richard is selling - they are both excellent. He has developed some medical problems that is unfortunatly cutting short his tuba playing career.
