I'm kinda like Roger, in that I did pretty well with the Mirafone C-4 when I played a 186,
BUT I switched to a C-3 and was IMMENSELY satisfied. Even continued using the C-3
when I switched over to a 184...then when I was playing the monster Cervemy I switched
to a Mirafone Rose Orchestra, and in fact switched to THAT mouthpiece on the 184 (!)
If you have thin to medium-thin lips, I'd suggest the C-3 or Rose Orchestra, in that order. If you have a little more meat on your face, you might try the C-4. The REAL trick here is to "try" a mouthpiece properly, I had to play ONLY THAT mouthpiece for a few weeks...if it was a good candidate. If it wasn't so good for me that comes out after a few days...but it really does take DAYS or WEEKS to determine what works well for you. Not like this is something that hasn't been said here before though....
